Job summary:
One of the most important ways we can help pet owners is by delivering an exceptional claims experience. This can be a time of high stress for pet owners, and we’re looking for someone to reinforce their trust in adoro by quickly, accurately and transparently processing their claims. This is a remote position.
Essential responsibilities:
- Review and process submitted claims in accordance with a pet’s applicable insurance policy, accurately and within desired service levels.
- Review and summarize pet medical records.
- Communicate as needed with staff at vet hospitals.
- Work independently and with others on a virtual team.
- Create and issue claims decisions to pet owners.
- Communicate in writing as needed with pet owners.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives within the claims department, leveraging technology to create an exceptional customer experience.
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Key requirements:
- Prior experience processing pet insurance claims
- 3+ years recent clinical veterinary experience (dog and cat) as a veterinary assistant, veterinary technician or veterinarian.
- Knowledge of veterinary terms, abbreviations and conditions.
- Knowledge of medical conditions and associated symptoms, procedures, treatments, secondary conditions and pharmaceuticals used in veterinary medicine.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment on a variety of systems.
- Demonstrable Microsoft Office proficiency: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams.
- Ability to work independently in a remote capacity, while also fostering teamwork and collaborating with others.
- Strong writing skills including organization, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Preferred requirements:
- P&C Claims Adjuster License;
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).
Schedule/other requirements:
- This is a full time position, working Monday – Friday during daytime hours.
- This position requires reliable high-speed internet connection (minimum of 100 Mbps download and 30 Mbps upload speed) and a quiet, dedicated place to work in your home that is not easily disrupted by background noises or distractions.
Compensation:
- The pay for this position is $31.25/hour on a full-time schedule. The position is eligible for overtime pay. Along with the hourly pay, you may be eligible for bonuses based on performance.
